FAQs

Q: Why is my child having difficulty in school or not reaching their potential?

A: The answer to that question varies from child to child. Many children have difficulty in school because their academic skills are not at the level that they need to be. Other children may have problems with concentration, confidence, study habits, motivation, or general test-taking skills. We can discuss your child's struggles in combination with a free 30 minute assessment to determine what specific hurdles your child may be facing and how we can address them for your child to turn reading into a strength.

Q: When and how often do you schedule your tutoring sessions?

A: After school is the most common time to schedule tutoring sessions. Daytime is also available. Sessions are 1 hour long and usually scheduled 2 times per week. Sometimes a family's circumstances only allow once per week, which we can definitely work out, though growth will take more time.

Q: How important is it to continue enrollment over the summer months? What about vacations?

A: Summer enrollment is a very important factor in your child's overall, long-term academic and reading success. Consistency in reading is achieved by consistently reading! It is important to continue working on reading through the summer, though I fully support real-life education through vacations or other summer adventures and will work with you on scheduling flexibility.
